Fishing remains good on Lake Vermilion! The bite was different for a couple of days with the different weather patterns, but looking back, we put a lot of nice fish in the boat!
EAST END WALLEYES: Fishing continues to be good on the 5-to-15-foot rock piles. Moving around a lot and hitting a bunch of spots helps put more fish in the boat. This week we switched over from fishing mostly bobbers to fishing with jigs in order to trigger more bites. While some fish are still being caught on bobbers with a leech, jigs tipped with a leech or a crawler has become the more common option.
WEST END WALLEYES: The bite continues to improve on the west side as we progress later into June! We are continuing to have the most success on 5-to-15-foot rock piles and points. Much like the east end, moving around and hitting a bunch of spots will help you put more fish in the boat. On the west side, we are still having more luck with bobbers than jigs, but don’t be afraid to start throwing jigs at fish if they aren’t hitting bobbers.
