07/14/26 Lake Vermilion Fishing Report

Fishing is picking up on Vermilion, and lots of nice catches are starting to appear!

EAST END WALLEYES: The best bite continues to be on rocks anywhere from 5 to 20 feet. Having both jigs and bobbers ready to go and moving around a lot has been a key part of putting fish in the boat.

Another bite to keep an eye on is the mid-lake sand and gravel in 15 to 25 feet. Fish will periodically show up here and should at some point, show up en masse. The best way to catch these fish is dragging a Lindy Rig and a crawler at 0.5 to 0.7 miles per hour.

WEST END WALLEYES: Much like the east end, the best bite continues to be on rocks. The best depths have been anywhere from 12 to 30 feet of water. Having both jigs and bobbers ready and hitting a lot of spots will help you achieve the best results.

The sand bars have a couple fish as well in 12 to 25 feet. Pay attention to the wind and you can stumble onto some good fish in the sand. A Lindy Rig with a crawler is the best way to get these fish to bite.

Fishing conditions continue to improve across Lake Vermilion, and the walleye bite is becoming more consistent every week. With fish actively relating to both rock structure and sand flats, anglers willing to stay mobile and adjust presentations are seeing some excellent results. If this trend continues, we expect even more fish to move onto mid-lake sand and gravel areas in the coming weeks.
