08/25/26 Lake Vermilion Fishing Report

Another great week of fishing on Vermilion! It’s been a consistent line of limits in our boats!

EAST END WALLEYES: The best bite has stabilized and continued to be Leadcore for us this past week. Trolling the mud basins in 17 to 31 feet of water have been the best depths. 2.5 miles per hour and Number 5 Flicker Shads and Shad Raps have been the speeds and baits of choice.

For non-Leadcore fish, there are some fish to be had on the tops and bottoms of rock piles in 10-20 feet. If the fish are on top, target them with a jig and a crawler or a leech and a crawler. If they are on the bottom, use Lindy Rigs or pull spinners to get these fish to bite.

WEST END WALLEYES: The best bite on the west side has been Leadcore trolling in 17-27 feet. On the west side, we have been using a mixture of Number 5 and Number 7 baits to catch our fish. Once again, the speed of choice has been 2.5 miles per hour.

For the non-Leadcore bite on the west end focus on deeper rocks in 17 to 30 feet. A jig and a crawler or a jig and a leech are the baits of choice here.

The walleye bite is as consistent as we’ve seen all summer, and fall fishing is shaping up to be outstanding. September dates are filling quickly, but Justin still has a few openings available. Call or text 218-820-0335 or book online to secure your Lake Vermilion fishing adventure before they’re gone.
