Fishing continues to be very good on the east end, with lots of eaters being caught!
EAST END WALLEYES: Limits of 13-15” fish continue to be the norm. A Lindy rig with a crawler continues to be the best presentation, although a jig and a crawler or a jig and a minnow have been very effective as well. The best locations have been the 17-25 foot main lake sand and gravel humps, but there are fish to be had on the 10-15 foot rock piles as well.
WEST END WALLEYES: The bite is starting to pick up a little bit on the west end, with the best bite being in the sand in 17-25 feet of water. Much like the east end, a Lindy Rig and a crawler is the best presentation, but a jig and a crawler or minnow will work well as well… If you find fish that aren’t biting, don’t forget to try a reaction bait like a jigging rap. It could be the difference between a good day and a bad day on the water.
SMALLMOUTH BASS: Fishing continues to be very good. Look for big chunk rocks in 6-8 feet of water along shorelines or main lake rock piles and you will catch fish. Casting Ned rigs, swim-baits, creature-type baits, or a simple slip-bobber and a crawler will result in nice catches.
